Wisdom For Extraordinary Living
Crap. What Did I Get Myself Into?!
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
Socrates once said that the key component to life is to know thyself. Hence i address and ask aloud: Who the hell do i think i am?
To further elaborate: where in Plato’s pants do i get the balls to believe that i can achieve the “unrealistic”?
Really. Why put myself out in the open and let it all hang loose on the line? What the hell are we doing here Harry?
The answers to these quality questions will indeed be articulated but first, crap, i have a confession. When i accepted this half-courageous, half-crack-headed challenge, i had no freaking idea how big of a deal Gary Vaynerchuk really was. The guy shines!
As of October 1st, 2010, Gary Vaynerchuk has 855,274 followers on twitter. That means there are almost a million people who if possible would potentially put themselves in a seat sitting next to Gary at a New York Jets game.
In New York City (holla!), Gary is the 26th most followed person on twitter beating the lights outta’ Jay-Z, Anderson Copper, David Blaine, and Ivanka Trump. The best of beats, news, magic, and bankroll can’t touch our boy.
In the last 3 years, Gary has been on the TV shows of Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Ellen Degeneres, Dr. Oz, Emeril Lagasse, Donny Deutsch, Jim Cramer plus more. He’s also appeared on CNN, CBS, MSNBC, FOX, and MTV.
Gary grew his parent’s company, Wine Library, from a 4 million dollar per year shop to an annual 60 million dollar dynasty. Of course this was all before he actually “made a name” for himself crushing it online. Gary’s committed to creating content 5 days a week for his video blog, Wine Library TV, that now harbors over 800 episodes and gets 90,000 views daily.
His latest book Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion, is a New York Times Best Seller. He signed a 10 book deal contract to go with that.
Snap Back To Reality
Truth be told, when i initially received this challenge, i spent the first forty-five seconds staring at my computer screen, thinking of creative ways to reply “no thank you” without looking like a chump-change coward.
Then suddenly something strange happened. Second forty-six struck and i thought: maybe i could do it.
If i did decide to take on John’s dare, I’d be “The Truth“, let it be told. I would be the living embodiment of my values while demonstrating what i stand for. Talk is cheap but walk is steep.
If nothing else comes from this at least i know that i’m living in integrity with what i talk about. I may not make it to a Jets game with Gary but i am tapping into my heart and soul and giving out what I’ve got within.
Now if i do make it to a football game with Gary, the possibilities are limitless. I could develop new relationships, have a once in a lifetime experience, and most importantly, i could inspire other people to live their dreams knowing the “unrealistic” can be made “realistic”.
Walking The Talking
Check out THE conversation where i announced that i’m taking on this task. It’s with a close group of friends, including “the challenger”, Mr. John Carey. My good friends Nathan and Electra also convert their 2 cents into the currency of wise words.

In the next posting, I’m going to share my strategy for composing my email to Gary. I’ll give you a hint: it’s full of heart and hustle!
What *YOU* Can Do!
I took on this challenge to demonstrate to the world that achieving your dreams is possible. The only catch is, if the world doesn’t know about what’s going on here, they won’t be inspired by it!
I’d would mean the world to me if you could share this on your favorite social network. It’s one way you can give the gift of growth to Sensophy, and the world too. Thanks in advance!
