Simon Sinek Speaking on the Why, How, and What of Inspiration
Some of my favorite take-aways were these:
- “People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.”
- “The goal is not to do business with everybody who needs what you have. The goal is to do business with people who believe what you believe.”
- “MLK gave the i have a dream speech, not the i have a plan speech.”
Thank you Kathy for the contribution!

nicely done Jacob. Just what I needed to hear as I work late into the night. Good thing to remember when I'm floundering a little or getting weary.

dude! a couple virtual asst coaches turned me onto this talk about a month back. "people don't buy what you do, they buy what you do" has become one of my mantras these days! really thinking about how i can incorporate this approach into my business and work. and was just having a conversation with someone at dinner tonight about their business and how it's always great to keep this bit of information in your mind. i love his circles of how most know what you do, some know how you do it, but only few know why. and his example of Apple is brilliant (can anyone really imagine buying a phone from Dell?!). plus cool stuff about MLK & the Wright bros. thanks for sharing this with your audience – i got much out of it and excited to see that you did too!
