Hi Jacob,
Pain is definitely a great factor that will help us to move forward. Sometimes human need that extra nudge to help us move forward. I saw many successful people became successful only after a big setback. the big setback acts as a pain factor to help them move forward. Definitely having enough pain will help us move forward. Great vid!
Cheers,

Hi Jacob,
What's up brother from another mother?! (lol) Ok on a serious note, I feel that pain is huge aspect of why people may change. But what characteristizes being in pain? We all have different perspectives of pain and our thresholds.
I think self-confidence is another key to change before you can fully listen to others to get inspired beyond the point of just feelin it for that moment. How do we spread that moment to all moments in life? How do we stay grounded and in awe of the beauty of life? How do you inspire people to have confidence in themselves, when their the ones that have to make that choice? How do you re-assure them that no matter what they decide to do with their life, it is all good and it is all– right and that they can only become better by experiencing change and growth in any and all perspectives.
Wow, ok I have lots of questions. The best thing about you Jacob is that I feel your passion, I can feel your energy for life and others, it inspires me to think and question. (a Lot of questions!) and thats amazing. Thank you.
Namaste,

Hey Jacob, Good post. It reminds me of the story "How to fry a frog". Simply turn up the heat sloooowly and the frog will accept/adapt but NOT change to its own demise. Gruesome but true. Sometimes we all need that burst of "fire in the belly" to make a change in our lives. Cheers! Mike

Yo Jacob,
I got to say I turned the video off after 3 mins because I know exactly where it’s going. You are literally speaking my mind. Unbelievable. Right now I’m in a good job status wise but a s*** job personally and I knew this before I took it, but I purposely took it knowing how much I’d hate it so it would force me to get off my ass and pursue my aspirations of working for myself.
After 3 days in the job I have got 3 other people in on my idea, setup a business meeting and hope to be up and running within a month. Your advice is sound.

AGGGHHHH! THAT FREAKIN SPACE! Yep I know that place Jacob, been in it most of the time I've been breathing if I'm honest – I mean really deep down at my core. Sure I've had some fun times, some good times, somme happy stuff- but my essence has been yearning for what seems like forever, well my forever anyway.
Working hard these days, weeks, months & moments to transform that inner void & fill it with something – fill it with me, but a happy, fulfilled, authentic, conguent me. It's a long road but I'm on it and taking those all important Baby Steps – gotta love those. Change is a comin'
Hey your cat is beautiful – really missing my Mishi, my cat who was with me for 15 years who sadly died 14.3.11. What name does your cat go by – besides gorgeous that is.
Great post Jacob – loving your vitality, now that's something for me to aim for. Bless you & All good things to you. x -
haha…I spent most of my life in that 'space'…struggling for someoen to let me break through. What I learned was, they would not LET me, I had to do it all on my own. I had to be the one to want it bad enough…so I did, and they didn't like it…and NOW, they are angry, because I am happy…Oh well.
I am in another transition…just wrote about it myself tongiht. Knowing that I cannot stay in this little comfy space…knowing I have to stretch and grow again…for the first time in Over a year…I am afraid. It's my cue, my cue that it's time. I don't like it, but I know it's as important to my well being as the calm moments…
xoxo Jacob…It kills me to see people stuck in that space between…knowing they have the power.

oh…and I wanted to say…I was just a little distracted by the lid up in the background…LOL…

LOL! I dropped my comment before I read the others and almost spit out my water when I saw that you commented on the same thing.
Jacob, shut your bathroom door! (lol j/k! ;) )

Love the cat! Pets can help us through some tough spots.

Tony Robbins came to mind and the pain/pleasure principle. As simple as it sounds, everything we do is based on gaining pleasure and/or avoiding pain. In order to make a change, you have to associate the change to being more pleasurable than the current situation. For example, I should probably quit drinking coffee. But, I associate massive pain to quitting and mad pleasure to drinking 37 pots a day. ;)
Oh, and I gotta ask man….
Sometimes your toilet seat is up, sometimes it's down. Do you leave the bathroom door open and randomize your toilet seat position on purpose to see which one of us will notice, or is it simply one of the idiosyncrasies that stand out to me on Sensophy TV?
Also…
What do the notes say on your bulletin board? It's torture when I pause your videos, zoom in to 1200x and repeatedly fail to read them in a crazy pixelated form.
Cheers

its always so great to read the conversations up here….sensophy's not only a great blog but also an awesome platform for peeps on the path of self-actualization to share and inspire each other…and I am so thankful for that :)
u know , this video reminded me of the Eckhart Tolle quote which goes something like….suffering's there to make us realize that we don't really need to suffer….
and you bring home that wisdom with such energy and enthusiam its really contagious!…really loving the videos…keep up the great work :D
btw. couldn't help saying – that is one gorgeous cat…totally loved the cameo :) -
I like how you talk about the pain that you feel when it gets so bad in your job that you would do whatever it takes to get out of it. Thanks for finding words for something I thought was undescribable!

Hey Jacob, I love what you're doing man! Great video blog. I do agree that pain can be a catalyst that brings about change. I also agree that the more a person is aware of what their life would look like it they don't change, the more likely they will change. For me, it was becoming more aware of what my life would look like if I settled for the typical American life… "Go to school, get a job, and make money". I wanted more. So I started my sophomore year in college to live a fulfilling life of purpose. I changed! And I haven't looked back since.
Quick question yo': What video camera did you use to make this video?

jesus jacob.. do you wanna be my therapist??
-
You forgot to put the toilet seat down

Cool cat :)
I am sure he is wiser than all of us and just doesn*t give a sh*t about analyzing life. He just lives it.
Very positive video tho, well done.
Thanks.

While perusing the archives for some links, I just got involved in some of these old videos of yours. Lovin' the passion, mister! And the soundtrack. Lupe + old skool Kanye = top combo.

Jacob-
You nailed it mista…EXACTLY!!! :)
