Sensophy’s Inner Circle – Week 66

Big Idea #1: Revealing What’s Hidden Leads to Healing

Confusion leads to clarity! When you’re confused, it’s a great thing: it means you’re about to learn something. Keep going! And when you’re feeling doubt, it might feel like it’s about whatever topic is going on, whether it’s work, relationships, or anything else… but it’s really always really about one core doubt: doubt about ourselves.

What we resist, persists. When we try to bury something and hide it from the world, it only becomes bigger and bigger for us. Are you carrying something around with you that you’re working so hard for people not to see? And what would happen if you could share this and release the burden of hiding it?

What is the thing that you’re trying so hard for people not to know about you? Being able to share the deepest, darkest things we’re trying to hide actually takes the power away from them. It’s when we hide and repress parts of ourselves, that they become big issues in our life.

When you work on healing yourself, you’re putting yourself in a better position to help heal others. So don’t confuse self-care with selfishness…. start to see the line between selfishness and selflessness disappear. Because the more you’re taking care of yourself and stepping into your purpose, the more you’ll be able to show up for other people in service.

Big Idea #2: The Facts vs. Our Story About Them

Facts of what actually happened, vs. our perceived reality of the situation. We create stories from what happened, which are separate from the facts. We place meaning on events that we often carry with us throughout our lives.

It’s important to be aware of the story we’re telling ourselves about some event in our lives. This story may be affecting the way we live our life and the lens through which we see the world. Often, we allow the meaning from one event to run through the rest of our life so we might place limitations on ourselves or judgments about the way we are or the world is.

If you’re not aware that a story is going on, it may rule your life and continue to make you feel bad when really, this is all just created in your head.

It’s hard to accelerate and get somewhere when we have competing commitments going on. It’s like pressing the gas and pressing the brake at the same time. Where is there an incongruence going in your life? Maybe you want to make a difference in the world, but are afraid of being seen. Don’t let your limiting beliefs or fears put the brakes on your dreams! Once you’re aware of them, you can work on letting go of these unhelpful beliefs that may be holding you back.

Big Idea #3: You Learn By Falling

Feelings are coming from your thoughts. Anytime you feel a certain way, it’s based on a thought that you’re having- which may be unconscious! So if you’re feeling discouraged or negative, you are probably having a thought that “I’m not good enough,” or some other thought that’s taking away your power.

We create our reality through our thoughts. If we go through life thinking that we can’t trust anyone, then we’re going to experience the world as a scary and threatening place. And if we go through life seeing opportunities for growth everywhere, then we will find them. Our thoughts and feelings are all completely our own choice, and so is our experience of life.

Remember what happened the first time you tried to walk? You fell down. You learn to walk by taking steps and falling! If you never let yourself fail, you would have never learned to walk. For months, you tried and tried to take a step, and you fell down. So the day you finally took 2 steps before falling, was a huge celebration!!

As a child, you’d never be judged for falling! You’d never stop trying just because you didn’t succeed the first time. This approach shouldn’t be any different at this point in your life. What’s missing isn’t knowledge – it’s courage. Practicing being vulnerable in a safe space can help cultivate that courage and help you take action in your life.
