Sensophy’s Inner Circle – Week 93

Big Idea #1: Healthy Ways to Process Anger

How can we process our anger or rage in a healthy way? When we store anger in our body, it often manifests as physical pain or some other health problems – so clearly, it’s important to release these emotions. The thing is, we want to do it in a way that’s not actually going to terrify anyone in public! 🙂

Often in the personal development world, we hear anger being “shamed”. You might hear that anger is some kind of “lesser” emotion, and that people who feel angry as “less conscious” or have done “less work” than people who are able to “rise above it all.” But honestly – we all feel anger. And we NEED to feel – and express – anger sometimes!

What might that look like? Pounding a pillow, blasting loud music, doing something that feels really good… find a way to let it out that isn’t going to hurt someone else. You might wanna start out by expressing that anger in a self-contained space. That way, no one else get hurts physically or emotionally.

Big Idea #2: Where Does Self-Worth Come From?

Self-worth comes from integrity. In order to be in integrity with what’s most important to you, you need to KNOW what’s most important to you! So self-knowledge and awareness is one of the key ways to bring integrity into your life.

When you know what’s most important to you, what you really want to create in the world, and who you really are – then you can take the ACTION steps to get into alignment with that.

Getting into integrity basically means closing the gap with where you ARE and where you COULD be

Growth mindset vs. fixed mindset

A person with a fixed mindset is looking at themselves and the world through a lens that they’re not going to change. “This is who I am, and no matter what happens, I’m going to be this way.”

Someone with a growth mindset sees the world as flexible and changeable. They view themselves as able to change and grow, rather than being stuck one certain way.

The distinction here is that someone with a fixed mindset spends all their energy trying to PROVE themselves. But someone with a growth mindset spends their energy working to IMPROVE! They know that if they make a mistake, it doesn’t say anything about their self-worth. Self-worth doesn’t come from your service’s worth, or any outside perceptions. It comes from being in alignment with the things that are MOST important to you.

Big Idea #3: Beating the Obstacles to Taking Action

When we have a hesitancy to take action, it’s often because we think that the results of the action will “mean” something. In other words – if things don’t go as we want them to, then it will mean something about us as a person, so it feels safer not to act at all.

Find yourself over-thinking and getting paralyzed into inaction? Try getting back into your body. We call this… LSD! That’s laugh, sing and dance. It’s hard to be super overanalyzing when you’re getting embodied and in touch with yourself through playful movement. Don’t try to “figure everything out” before you start acting… just get up, get out and get in your body – THEN you’ll feel more inspired to take action.

And try not to get caught up in comparing your journey to someone else’s journey. Give yourself a celebration for the steps you HAVE taken already – chances are, you’ve come a lot farther than you’re giving yourself credit for.
