Sensophy’s Inner Circle – Week 94

Big Idea #1: Creating the Sacred Space for Coaching

You have a different type of conversation in a coaching situation, than you do when chatting with a friend. A coaching conversation is a sacred container – and it’s important to set that space and intention before entering that place!

Keep in mind that just because a coaching conversation isn’t paid, doesn’t reduce its potential for value and service. Setting a clear intention and space for the conversation will make this a valuable opportunity for both of you to show up in a powerful way.

Here’s a way that you can set the space and intention for a coaching conversation:

I’m asking you to show up in a quiet place where you can be 100% present. I want you to know this is completely free and I’m not expecting any money from this, and my intention is to see how I can help you as much as possible in our time together. I just ask that you come with the intention of being open to something changing in your life. If you’re cool with that – let’s move forward!

If you feel like this needs to work NOW or you’re screwed – then you’re screwed! Because guess what… here’s how things really operate: if you’re acting out of desperation, it’s going to repel people away, big time. Desperation is a wealth repellant!

So if you’re feeling like you absolutely have to get this project off the ground to start paying your bills, or else you’re going to go broke and give up – then you’re just setting yourself up in a situation to fail.

So the real project here is figuring out how to sustain yourself in the moment, so that you can work on building a business you love. So what’s going to support you in being able to work on the business you really want? Does that mean reducing expenses, living at home for awhile, or some other solution? Take care of your basic needs so you can approach your current project from a space of service, not desperation!

Big Idea #2: Money as a Means to Align With our Values and Purpose

Do you ever find yourself struggling with negative beliefs or relationship towards money? It’s often really hard to become comfortable naming our prices, asking for money and just dealing with the flow of money in our lives.

Money is a way to support our growth and enable us to live in alignment with our values. When we create money in our lives, we’re able to make choices that are in alignment with the things we care about – which ultimately helps us to express our purpose.

Try writing out 20 reasons why you believe that money is bad. This is going to uncover your beliefs about money, and you may start to understand where these beliefs are really coming from.

And by the way – you can know something consciously, but that doesn’t mean that this idea is going to change your life. You still have to do the work and do the practices that will take you there! Action makes a difference – not information! Wisdom is all well and good, but you have to GO on the journey in order to get where you’re going!

Big Idea #3: Service is a Journey, not a Destination

Whatever you’re working on – remember to focus on the process and the journey, not some destination you’re trying to arrive at. If you’re looking to be of more service in your life, keep in mind that you can be of service at any point on this journey! It’s not about getting to some destination where you’re finally able to serve the way you want to.

You could potentially drive yourself crazy trying to figure out the “ideal” means for service! Think about all the different vehicles you could use to change people’s lives. Rather than sitting around trying to decide how to help, get out there and START! You’re not serving anyone by sitting at home, trying to come to the “perfect” solution.

Service and expressing our purpose is a moment-to-moment journey, not a destination to get to.
