Now, for this week’s big ideas…

Big Idea #1: Gaining Wisdom From Our Body

Very often, the things that we look for outside of ourselves, is already within. What wisdom is your body trying to communicate? Instead of fighting feelings like tension and stress, welcome them as paths to deeper awareness of yourself.

Often times, we may have already read the thing we needed to read, but it’s outside of us. It’s an idea in a book or a podcast. But when we slow down and connect within ourselves, the connection happens in a deeper way, an embodied way, where it sticks and we really get the ‘aha’.

Big Idea #2: Welcoming and Embracing Old Wounds

Instead of trying to let go and release old wounds, welcome them. They are there to show and teach you something. In our culture, we don’t have an education around processing emotion and trauma and therefore we feel ashamed, and we don’t listen to it or honor it. We tense up, freeze up, and disconnect from our deeper selves because it feels shameful. Instead of trying to let go of the anger that’s there, welcome it. Embrace it. Connect to that anger, there’s power in it. Direct it and let it out. Open up a conversation and hear what’s happening a little bit deeper below the surface for you. And instead of wishing it wasn’t there, welcome it. Feel into it instead of pushing it away.

You don’t need to do it in a day. And it isn’t going to be one conversation. But you’ve been carrying this with you for quite some time. Know that nothing needs to change and you’re ok. You’re whole and complete right now. When we slow down and connect to our deeper wisdom, there is a journey that you’re on and a processing path that you are walking. Like any path, it’s not about the destination, because the destination doesn’t last.

Big Idea #3: Destroy to Rebuild

A great example of this is an old house in an up and coming neighborhood. Eventually, they’ll tear the old house down to make one that’s more valuable. But in order to do that, they’ll make a mess first. It’s a processing of clearing that out to build the next evolution. The same thing goes in our lives. Breakdowns lead to breakthroughs.

Let’s connect!
