In the meantime, you can dig into the IC Archive here and stay connected with the whole crew in the FB group here!

Now, for this week’s big ideas…

Big Idea #1: Finding Your WHY

When it comes to finding our purpose, lots of us believe that if we could only put our WHY into the “perfect words” – THEN we would be ready to contribute and start taking action!

But what if it was the other way around? (Hint: it is…)

Instead of “I need to know exactly what my purpose is before I take action…”

Check this out: “When I take action, and go in the direction that’s in alignment w/ what matters to me – THEN I learn more about myself, and figure out my purpose.”

ACTION first! Finding the actual words to describe your purpose? Later.

Get out there and take some inspired, aligned action!!! Talk is cheap, yo. 🙂 The words to describe it all will come… after you’re in the world, DOING your thing!!

And here’s another clue about purposeful living: what are the things that have been more challenging for you, or have bothered you the most about the way the world is? The opposite of that is your purpose! The things that have hurt you the most in life, are the things that are the most meaningful for you to help other people work through.

Big Idea #2: Theory vs. Specific Grounded Action

When we talk about living more in alignment with our purpose, there’s a HUGE difference between theory or concepts and grounded action.

A CONCEPT is an idea! Self-care is a concept. “I’m going to start taking better care of myself!”

Great…. but how? When?

SPECIFIC, GROUNDED ACTION is where real transformation happens. “I’m going to go running for 30 minutes tomorrow at 9am” is way more likely to happen than “taking better care of myself.”

See the difference?

What gets scheduled, gets done. The more specific you can be about the grounded action you plan to take – the WAY more likely it is to happen!

So if we really wanna change something in our life…. get out of “theory” and get into grounded action!

Big Idea #3: Speaking the Hidden Language of Life

Here’s a tip for how to master life: Learn the hidden language that’s being spoken underneath what appears to be happening on the surface.

Think about interacting with a cat. On the surface, they may appear distant and aloof… but if you learn to speak the hidden language of cats (…boundaries, respect and trust!), then you can communicate with them.

Think about romantic relationships. When your partner says they’re “fine”, are they actually fine? Chances are, probably not! But if you learn the language of your partner, you can get past the surface and communicate with them in an effective way.

So guess what… the universe does the same thing. When we get hit with hard stuff in life – health problems, a breakup, losing a job… we may be tempted to say “Well life just sucks, and this is unfair!!” But take a moment and look at what the universe is really saying to you. What lesson is it trying to get across, and what do you need to learn or change?

If you can learn this hidden language of life, this deeper current that runs through everything… then you will begin to master life in a completely new way.
