Now, for this week’s big ideas…

Big Idea #1: Mastering the Inner Game

So much of our suffering comes from an attachment to certainty. Our suffering comes from clinging to something to give us a sense of safety and stability.

We associate safety with certainty… but the life of someone who masters themselves, gets safety from somewhere OTHER than certainty.

When we try to associate safety with certainty, all we really end up doing is trying to control things outside ourselves.

So if safety doesn’t come from certainty, where does it come from?

Safety comes from having a deep commitment to figuring out how to be the best version of yourself.

The INNER GAME. 

Safety comes from knowing you can handle whatever gets thrown your way. It’s about knowing that you have the inner game to deal with the outer obstacles.

One of the simplest ways to get in the inner game, is to connect to our breath.

Certainty comes from KNOWING the habits and practices that make us feel good! Do you KNOW that when you exercise or meditate, you feel good and able to rock your day? GREAT! That’s certainty!

Greatness isn’t an accident, and it doesn’t happen to people who are “lucky”. Greatness happens for people who are committed to rocking the habits that support them in showing up at their best.

Big Idea #2: Consciously Creating Your Life

What does consciously creating your life mean? It means spending time asking questions that are more empowered and will produce a more fulfilling result than the questions society has given us.

Society likes to ask us questions like: “How do I get a good job?”

Instead of that limiting type of question… try asking yourself more powerful questions like:

“If I had all the time and money in the world, how would I spend my time?”

“What is it that I love to do so much, that I would pay to do it every day?”

What’s happening for you on the inside? A tree will only grow as tall as its roots are deep. The taller you want it to grow, the deeper the roots must grow – and the same goes for your life.

You need to build a deep foundation, if you aspire to grow to great heights in your life.

In order to get what you want in life, you do need to die in a way – an egoic death, a release of your current perceptions and current sense of reality.

Right now – there is a part of you that’s working REALLY hard to keep your dreams from coming true. Why? Because that part of you THINKS it’s keeping you safe! This part of you wants your life to stay as it is, because it’s “safe” and “certain”.

And this is the part of you that you need to allow to DIE – so you can allow new, supportive beliefs to help you rise to greater heights.

Big Idea #3: Navigating Heartbreak

When you’re dealing with heartbreak – science actually shows that our heart physically changes in structure when you deal with losing love in your life through a breakup. This pain is very real and it sucks, AND, it will not last forever.

Make sure that you support yourself with people who love you and nourish you during this time. Recognize that you will feel extreme pain for a short time, but that it will not last forever – and that you can put systems into place to best help you process the hurt and move through it into healing.

In the moment – it sucks. It can feel hard to see out of it – so don’t shame yourself for feeling the way you feel. Surround yourself with loving support and connection, and allow yourself to be with your feelings as you move from pain into healing.
