Have you ever been in a situation where you knew you needed to make a change but you didn’t do it? Or do you have a friend or loved one that you really wanna inspire to make some positive changes in their lives, but all they ever do is nod along and then don’t do anything about it?

“People don’t change until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing.” -Unknown

Today I’m gonna share a Sensophy classic with you where I philosophize on what makes people change. I also share a simple exercise I use with my coaching clients to help inspire them to finally commit to making the changes necessary to live a fulfilling life.

I recorded this video back in 2011. I had quit my job a year earlier and had taken huge risks to create the extraordinary life I had previously only been dreaming of. At the time, I didn’t have a steady stream of income and a lot of my fam + friends were telling me I was an idiot for taking these risks.

When I used to come across awesome peeps online, I often imagined that getting to the point of freedom, community and massive growth had probably been straight-forward and natural for them. That’s why I wanted to share one of my early videos, accompanied by some classic hip-hop background music and a guest appearance by my boy, Krylon.

At that point in my life, I wasn’t coaching, but I still knew the power of making a serious investment in yourself. We’re all human, and creating extraordinary lives isn’t just for a selective few. You can do it if you’re willing to be patient, persistent and diligent, and make a massive commitment to investing in yourself.

And that’s exactly what this video is about:

  • 1:10 – Why I didn’t have the courage to change my life.
  • 2:00 – This is why people change.
  • 3:30 – How to bring yourself to the place of change.
  • 5:45 – What happens when we don’t change.
  • 6:00 – The best possible investment you can ever make.
